Guinness teams up with MatchPint for the Six Nations to help rugby fans get a round in.
Just in time for Wales vs England on Friday night, MatchPint and Guinness are teaming up to give away thousands of free pints of the black stuff to rugby fans throughout the 6 Nations.
The offer, running in over 1000 pubs UK wide, allows rugby fans to buy one Guinness and receive a second absolutely free. Perfect for buying your mate a beer and receiving one in return, too. All pub goers need do is check in using the MatchPint app at a participating venue and show the on-screen voucher to the bartender.
Following a successful trial last year, the Guinness and MatchPint offer is back and is this time available in more than double the number of venues as in 2014. More information on the offer is available on the MatchPint blog.
MatchPint is a free app, which helps users locate a pub in their area showing their chosen sports fixture and is available to download for free on both iPhone and Android devices. Unlike other pub searching tools, MatchPint is an independent service designed by sports fans to help others find a pub showing their match of choice.
“The MatchPint app is great for getting rugby fans into the pub before a big game,” commented Lee Curtis, publican at The Bowler Pub & Kitchen. “We always have a great turn out for the rugby. The fans are the most passionate and it’s always a cracking atmosphere here at The Bowler when there’s a big Six Nations tie on.”
“We’re really excited to be giving rugby fans the chance to treat a mate to a free pint during what looks set to be one of the most exciting Six Nations in years” commented Leo MacLehose, founder and CEO of MatchPint. “Bedding down with a bunch of pals at a pub for a big rugby match at this time of year is a real social highlight. Doing so with a free Guinness in hand make the match that bit better.”
